For the Hindu, there may be a consideration pertaining the caste system similar to the teaching of the head, torso, legs, and feet. The five effectual castes of Brahmins, Kshaitriya, Vaishyka, Shudra, and the Dalits may be compared to the five digits of the hand. And within this comparison, there is the consideration of whether it is the Brahmin or the Dalit that is the thumb.
